ABOUT ACUPUNCTURE
Acupuncture is a form of alternative medicine and a key component of Traditional Chinese Medicine that can be traced back at least 2,500 years. The general theory of acupuncture is based on the premise that there are patterns of energy flow (Qi) through the body that are essential for health. Acupuncture emphasises on non-medication treatment for a variety of ailments and has proven to be a unique, quick, effective and safe method of therapy that either individually, or used in combination with herbal or modern medicine, providing holistic care and alleviate symptoms for patients.

PURPOSE OF COURSE
This course is designed to train those who has interest in pursuing a career in Chinese Medicine field to work with Registered Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) Practitioners; or for those who wished to progress to a degree study in Chinese Medicine later on to become a Registered TCM Practitioner.
COURSE OVERVIEW
The course starts with basic science courses and covers across the spectrum of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Students will be trained in Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine principles, Herbal Medicine, and an overview on Western Internal Medicine. It focuses on acupuncture skills and techniques and ends with an extensive hands-on Clinical Training. The curriculum uniquely combines both basic knowledge of modern medicine with traditional Chinese medicine.

INTAKES
January / April / August
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
i. Possess Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) with at least credits in 3 subjects including a Science subject and Mathematics*; OR
ii. Possess Unified Examination Certificate (UEC) with at least Grade B in 3 subjects including a Science subject and Mathematics*; OR
iii. Possess O-Level Certificate with at least Grade C in 3 subjects including a Science subject and Mathematics*; OR
iv. A pass in Sijil Kemahiran Malaysia (SKM) (Level 3, MQF) in a relevant field; Note for (iv) – The HEPs are to conduct screening and appropriate bridging course(s) specific to the discipline of the programme. OR
v. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Pelajaran Malaysia (STPM) with at least Grade C (GPA 2.0) in a subject and credits in a Science subject and Mathematics* at SPM level; OR
vi. A pass in Sijil Tinggi Agama Malaysia (STAM) with at least Grade Maqbul and credits in a Science subject and Mathematics* at SPM level; OR
vii. Other equivalent/related qualifications recognised by the Malaysian Government.

ACCREDITATION
The programme is approved by the Ministry of Higher Education and is accredited by Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).
THE ACADEMIC TEAM
The academic team comprise of highly experienced team of industry-expert Chinese Medicine practitioners and lecturers, with extensive clinical and teaching experience in Chinese Medicine field.
CAREER PROSPECTS
Graduates of this Diploma shall be able to practice as an Assistant under a licensed TCM Practitioners.
